ABSTRACT. Asphalt-rubber hot mixtures are successfully used in many countries around the globe, especially in to the friction courses like high durable layer or noise reduction layer. This is also the situation in field of asphalt-rubber technologies in the Czech Republic.
This paper is focused on determination of different asphalt mixtures fatigue properties for base course, where the usage of asphalt-rubber mixtures could be also very beneficial. Asphalt mixtures with paving grade bitumen, polymer modified bitumen and crumb rubber modified bitumen are compared in described study. Results of fatigue resistance test, stiffness modulus test and rutting test are mentioned. Calculations of road structure design reflecting on measured results of tested mixtures functional properties like fatigue and stiffness are also introduced. These calculations are aimed to achieve technical solution for long lasting pavements using asphalt-rubber mixtures benefits for high fatigue resistant base course.
