In Poland, similar to other countries , the problem of utilising used car tyres still is not resolved. At present, only a part of the waste rubber is used in power plants. Inten-sive research work and implementation efforts on application of scrap rubber into road build-ing practice have carried out for last years. This paper shows laboratory research results on scrap rubber powder application using both wet process and dry process methods. Test sec-tions of pavements were built for different road traffic intensity. Research and test results prove that utilisation of scrap rubber powder in asphalt-aggregate mixtures, especially ac-cording to dry process, is purposeful.
