In this work, the authors present two new simple tests to characterize modified asphalt binders including materials like SBS, EVA, SBR, Crumb Rubber, etc. The physical mechanisms related to the new
testing devices are discussed and illustrated with some experimental results. Test validation is performed by means of statistical techniques using experimental design and variance analysis. It will be concluded that
the new test presented can be a valuable tool to evaluate, in a much simple way, the behavior of modified binders.
