Effect of storage time on rheological properties of crumb rubber modified bitumen

$7.00

Description

Rubber bitumen compositions were prepared with different methods, from various base materials and their flow properties were studied by using a Brookfield viscosimeter. It was found, that the dynamic viscosity of the rubber bitumen compositions was changing for some days after their preparation, probably because of post polymerisation reactions taking place in the compositions during storage. The changing of the viscosity was studied in
function of the preparation method, properties of the base materials and the crumb rubber. Correlation was sought among these parameters. A new and fast test method was developed to characterize elastic relaxation. Results obtained by this test carried out within an appropriate temperature range suitably characterized the efficiency of the modification with crumb rubbers. So it was used for studying the performance of crumb rubber modified
bitumens. Results were evaluated by using a rheological model.
