Description
Most of the experience in the wet process production of asphalt rubber has been with ambient ground car tires because this was the technology available 40 years ago when the asphalt rubber was invented and patented. Nowadays several new types of more cost-effective methodologies exist for the production of crumb rubber. As such it is important to see, at least within the properties that have defined crumb rubber, if these new methods of production of crumb rubber will affect those properties. Binder tests were executed on asphalt rubber reacted with crumb rubber produced from different processes namely, ambient, cryogenic and a combination of re process methods (crackermill and rotormill).
