Description
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has used asphalt-rubber in a variety of construction applications. This utilization of asphalt-rubber was the result of a State of Florida legislative mandate in 1988 directing that FDOT research the use of reclaimed tire rubber into asphalt paving mixtures. This paper presents a ten year history of the different asphalt-rubber activities in Florida and a review of their performance.
